Nate James is an acclaimed English singer-songwriter and one of the most successful independent soul artists globally, having sold over 1 million albums internationally.

Nate’s debut album, Set the Tone (2005), showcased his distinctive blend of live-band funk and classic soul influences, drawing inspiration from legends like Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. The album earned him three MOBO nominations and the Urban Music Award for Best Soul Artist. Nate recently regained ownership of the album’s masters and plans to release a deluxe edition in 2025 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. This edition will feature b-sides and unreleased tracks, targeting audiences in the UK, Europe, the Americas, and Australasia.

His second album, Kingdom Falls (2007), was entirely self-funded and featured live orchestration, reflecting a more studio-based production style. The title track was inspired by Nate’s charity mission to Rwanda, and the album earned him further critical acclaim, winning Urban Music Awards for Best Album and Best Neo-Soul Artist.

Renowned for his captivating live performances, Nate has sold out iconic venues like London’s Jazz Café and headlined major international festivals in Italy, Germany, France, and Japan. His career highlights include performing on Later… with Jools Holland in 2008, headlining the Montreal Jazz Festival’s outdoor stage to an audience of over 200,000, and winning Italy’s prestigious Festivalbar in 2006.

Nate has also toured with and supported legendary artists, including Amy Winehouse, Simply Red, John Legend, Beverley Knight, and Chaka Khan.

Currently, Nate is completing his highly anticipated third studio album, The Man I Am.
